• Question: why do we have more bones in our body when we are babies than we do now

      Hello!
      Very good question. When a baby is born it has around 300 bones but adults have only 206. This is because the bones in the baby will fuse to then produce the bones you can see in a adult. For example, the bones in the head are softer when you are born than when you grow older and this allows you the baby to pass through the birth canal during birth. Hope that answers your question 🙂
