For me it took a bit longer than for Robert to make that decision 😉
When I was 17 I did an internship in a lab and decided that this is it!

When I was about 6 I won a goldfish at a fair. My mum put it in a fish tank on the kitchen windowsill and every single morning before anyone else got up I would climb up on a chair and scoop the fish out of the tank so that I could look at it close up. I was fascinated by it. Sadly the fish didn’t last long (probably traumatised) but I think that was my first memory of the wonder of biology. School confirmed it for me and when I chose my GCSEs I was definitely on the science track! And I wouldn’t change a thing!
