No. But I usually don’t work with really dangerous stuff like explosives. Although I have heard a lot of scary lab stories, too: centrifuges going through the walls, fellow scientists collapsing because someone was stupid enough to leave dry ice in the cold room…
You better be careful while experimenting. And wear things like goggles. I didn’t once and the result really hurt…
Actually – I also once dug up a really, really dangerous amoeba from the soil. It was called Naegleria (look it up in wikipedia if you want to know…). Nobody has ever survived being infected with Naegleria, that we know about anyway.
Once I realised what I was growing I killed it pretty quick, and nobody got infected. Phew.
