Now I also thought you could go to pH 14 but have a look at this website (http://chemwiki.ucdavis.edu/Physical_Chemistry/Acids_and_Bases/PH_Scale). It is theoretically possible to go further at both ends! If you look at that website, it has an interesting illustration of different solutions on the scale!

Sodium hydroxide, also known as lye or caustic soda, solution has a pH of 14 😉
