I do, I really do! At least most of the days! 🙂 It’s a kinda of work that you have to put a lot into it: lots of hours, sometimes weekends. Sometimes you are very sad because your experiment didn’t work and you have no idea why. But when it works… Is very good! I have to say that once I almost had tears coming to my eyes! I just loving seeing something for the first time, that no one knew about before 🙂
I complain a lot about it but I do.
You have to work for many hours (sometimes until late or at weekends) and sometimes it can be very annoying if things dont work out the way you expected (this happens many times).
But when it does go right and you feel you have discovered something new and things are moving forward then its a great feeling and all you can think about is your work.
If I didn’t enjoy my work, I wouldn’t be able to do it! Sometimes my job is very hard, I have to juggle lots of things like research, teaching, administrative tasks, going to meetings and all sorts of things. I have to work very hard to do it all, including evenings and weekends sometimes, but my job has many rewards and I enjoy my research and teaching and mentoring students.
Yes! A lot. It can be hard and frustrating. You put a lot of effort and a lot of thought in it, and sometimes you get nothing out. But if the experiments work and you suddenly understand, it is really exciting!
I cannot imaging doing a job just to earn money. I really need to be into it with all my heart.
